Why More Ice Time Isn’t Making Them Faster
You want your player to be faster on the ice. Not just a little faster. Noticeably faster. A quicker first step, more explosiveness, and the ability to create a little separation when they need it.
But here’s what a lot of hockey families run into.
Once the season starts, your player is on the ice constantly. Practices, games, maybe some extra skills or power skating. So it feels like they’re already doing everything they need to keep getting faster.
The problem is, playing more hockey doesn’t automatically develop the strength, power, and speed qualities that actually make a player faster. And if they worked hard on those things in the off-season, they can slowly lose that progress once they stop training them.
That doesn’t mean your player needs four or five workouts a week on top of hockey. They shouldn’t. The season is already busy enough.
But one or two well-designed, hockey-specific sessions each week can help them keep developing the qualities that matter for speed, while still fitting around practices, games, school, and everything else going on.
I wish someone had told me that when I was younger.
I was cut from AAA five years in a row. I was willing to work. I shot pucks in the driveway, did basement workouts, and took power skating on weekends. But I didn’t really know what I should be working on, how often to do it, or how it all fit together during the season. None of it was actually making me faster.
It wasn’t until I was 23 that I hired a coach who gave me a real plan to follow. For the first time, I wasn’t guessing. I knew what I was training, why I was training it, and what to do next.
That’s exactly why In-Season Domination ’26 exists: to give your player a real system for building speed, strength, and power throughout the season, without piling a bunch of extra training onto an already busy schedule.
IntroducinG…
In-Season Domination ’26
Hockey players can’t train for speed the same way other athletes do. Every stride starts with your player pushing force through their hips, down through their legs and ankles, and into the ice through a thin skate blade.
If the hips aren’t strong and stable from a low skating position, or the ankles can’t hold up as that force reaches the ice, some of that power gets lost. I think of these as power leaks.
That’s why Speed Accelerator™, the system Coach Tim built for this year’s program, doesn’t just make your player stronger. We train the ankles and hips to build a stronger base, then develop strength, power, and speed on top of it.
Because the goal isn’t just to make your player a better athlete. It’s to make them a faster hockey player.
And because In-Season Domination ’26 lives inside our Hockey Domination membership, your player gets more than just the speed program.

Power
Faster First Steps, All Season
Getting faster isn’t just about getting stronger. Your player needs to produce a lot of force, and they need to produce it quickly.
That’s why Speed Accelerator™ is built around two main training days each week. Acceleration + Strength focuses on short bursts and the strength to put more force into the ground, because hockey isn’t a game of 100-yard sprints. Speed + Power teaches your player to use that strength faster through jumps, throws, swings, and short sprint variations.
During the season, training also has to fit around hockey. So your player gets up to four workouts per week, ranked by importance. Only time for one this week? Do the most important one. Time for two? You’ll know exactly which two. Lighter week? Add the extras.
Inside In-Season Domination ’26, your player gets:
Acceleration + Strength Days
Short, explosive accelerations and the strength to put more force into every stride.
Speed + Power Days
Jumps, throws, and sprints that teach your player to use that strength faster.
Ankle & Hip Stability Work
Fix the power leaks so more of their strength actually shows up on the ice.
Training That Fits Around Hockey
Workouts ranked by importance, with gym and bodyweight versions.
The goal is to help your player keep building speed, strength, and power all season, without wearing them down for practices and games.
Skill
BUILD BETTER HANDS & HOCKEY IQ
Speed gets your player to the puck first. Skills help them do something with it once they get there.
So we didn’t stop at the speed program. Your Hockey Domination membership also includes our Skills Lab, with follow-along stickhandling, shooting, and hockey IQ training your player can do at home.
During the season, these sessions are an easy way to get extra reps between games. Some take as little as 10 minutes, and they can be done far more often than the speed workouts.
The more comfortable those skills become, the easier it is to use them when the game speeds up.
Also included with your membership:
Follow-Along Stickhandling Workouts
Train alongside Coach Kevin with sessions designed to improve puck control, coordination, and quicker hands.
Shooting & Scoring Training
Work on shooting technique, quicker releases, and getting more comfortable shooting the puck.
Hockey IQ & Decision-Making
Learn how to recognize common game situations, read the play, and make better decisions with the puck.
Skill Challenges & Training Sessions
Fun, focused training opportunities that encourage players to practice their skills and get more reps between practices.
The goal isn’t simply to help players develop better hands or a harder shot. I want them to feel comfortable enough with the puck that they’re willing to hold onto it, recognize their options, and try making plays instead of immediately getting rid of it.
Support
TRAIN WITH COACHES WHO CARE
One thing I’ve learned from working with young hockey players is that having a good coach can make a big difference in how they approach training.
Kids don’t always get excited about following a workout on their own. But when they understand why they’re doing it, why we’re working on their ankles, why we’re building strength, why an exercise can help them skate faster, they’re a lot more likely to buy in.
That’s a big part of what I want Hockey Domination to provide, especially during a busy season.
Between our workouts, live training sessions, and member community, your player can learn from our coaches, ask questions, and get help fitting training around their schedule.
Inside Hockey Domination, your player gets:
Coaching Support From Coach Kevin & Coach Tim
Ask questions about training and get guidance from the coaches behind In-Season Domination ’26 inside our member community.
Live Group Training Sessions
Join live workouts with our coaches for opportunities to train together, learn, and interact.
A Community of Hockey Players
Connect with other players who enjoy hockey, share their progress, and learn from each other.
Guidance When You Need It
Get help choosing programs, understanding exercises, and fitting training around practices and games.
For me, one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is seeing players start to enjoy training and recognize how it can help them improve.
I don’t want parents having to force their kids to do extra workouts. Give them the opportunity, encourage them, and let them see what training is all about. But ultimately, I want the motivation to come from them.
That’s what I hope In-Season Domination ’26 helps them do.
When The Speed Kicks In
Stick with it, and within a few weeks you’ll start to notice it. A quicker first step. More explosiveness through each stride. More strength and stability in their skating. And more confidence knowing they’re working on the things that actually make them faster.
In-Season Domination ’26 was built by experienced hockey coaches, and your Hockey Domination membership gives you the chance to ask us questions and get guidance inside our member community.

Tim Lebbossiere created Speed Accelerator™ and the In-Season Domination ’26 program inside Hockey Domination™.
With over 8 years of experience coaching players from youth hockey to the NHL, Tim is currently in his fourth season with the Bruins after three seasons as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the AHL’s Providence Bruins.
He holds advanced degrees in Exercise Science and Human Performance and has worked with NCAA programs including UMass Lowell, Quinnipiac, and Holy Cross.
Tim programs speed development for NHL players. This year, he took everything he’s learned and built his most complete system yet, designed around the short, explosive bursts that actually decide hockey games. Inside Hockey Domination, he also helps members with training questions in the community.
I’ve spent over 13 years helping hockey players improve their skills, athleticism, and confidence through hockey-specific training.
Growing up, I was cut from AAA hockey five years in a row. Not because I didn’t work hard, but because I didn’t really understand how to train to become a better hockey player. I had the passion, but I lacked the right guidance.
That experience is a big reason I created Hockey Domination. I wanted to give players the training programs, coaching, and support I wish I’d had at their age.
This year marks the 9th edition of our flagship in-season program. I also lead hockey-specific training sessions and help members inside our community, with one goal: helping players improve, build confidence, and develop a genuine desire to work on their game.

FOR PLAYERS WHO LOVE HOCKEY AND WANT TO GET BETTER
Hockey Domination is for players who love the game and want to improve.
I don't expect young players to always be excited about extra training. That's something that often develops as they start seeing the benefits of their hard work. But I do believe the desire to improve needs to come from the player, not just their parents.
My goal is to make training fun and engaging so kids enjoy the process, build confidence, and gradually develop a love for working hard to get better.
