(And plenty of youth athletes, too.)
Speed matters everywhere in hockey. Speed Accelerator™ helps your player build a quicker first step and more explosive acceleration so they can get to loose pucks first and create more separation.
Strong legs only help if your player can transfer that force into the ice. We train the ankles and hips to create a stronger base so more of their power actually shows up in their stride.
The season is long, and players can lose strength and power if they stop training. In-Season Domination helps your player keep building those qualities without piling too much onto an already busy schedule.
A letter to hockey parents
But here’s what a lot of families run into:
Once the season starts, your player is skating a lot. Practices, games, maybe some extra skills or power skating. So it feels like they’re already doing everything they need to keep getting faster.
The problem is, playing more hockey doesn’t automatically develop all of the strength, power, and speed qualities that actually help a player become faster. And if your player did work hard on those things during the off-season, they can slowly lose some of that progress if they stop training them completely once the season starts.
That doesn’t mean your kid needs to be doing four or five workouts a week on top of hockey. They shouldn’t be. The season is already busy enough.
But one or two well-designed, hockey-specific training sessions each week can help them continue developing the qualities that matter for speed while still fitting around practices, games, school, and everything else going on.
That’s exactly why In-Season Domination ‘26 exists: to give your player a real system for continuing to build speed, strength, and power throughout the season without piling a bunch of extra training onto an already busy schedule.
Stick with it and within a few weeks you’ll start to notice a quicker first step, more explosiveness through each stride, more strength and stability in their skating. And more confidence knowing they’re actually working on the things that can help them become faster.
I built this because I’ve been exactly where your kid is. Here’s my story:
Hockey Training
From Coach Kevin
When I was younger, hockey was everything to me. But no matter how much effort I put in, I couldn’t seem to reach the next level.
Year after year, I watched teammates and friends move up while I stayed stuck. After being cut from my local AAA team for the fifth straight year, I hit rock bottom.
I still remember walking into that coach’s room, stomach tight, hands shaking. And then hearing those words: “We’re going with other guys this year.” It crushed me.
I started thinking maybe hockey just wasn’t my thing.
Looking back now, I’m grateful for that moment. Not because things turned around right away. They didn’t. After that fifth cut, I kind of gave up on the dream. I still played, but I wasn’t really pushing myself anymore.
But here’s what I wish I’d known back then:
Hard work alone wasn’t enough without the right plan.
I was shooting pucks in my driveway, doing basement workouts, and taking power skating lessons on weekends. But none of it was actually making me faster on the ice.
So I stopped winging it.
Instead of random drills that just felt hard, I shifted to hockey-specific training that actually moves the needle: explosive plyometrics for first-step quickness, lateral drills that mimicked skating movements, and targeted ankle work that builds the stability you need to generate power in your stride.
I followed an actual plan instead of just showing up and hoping for the best. It looked nothing like the squats, sit-ups, and push-ups I’d been doing before.
Things started to click.
It didn’t happen overnight. But over time, I noticed small wins. My first steps felt quicker. My shot got harder. I was beating defenders who used to shut me down every time.
Then those small wins started stacking up.
I think about that 12, 13, 14-year-old version of myself all the time. The one who was grinding but didn’t know how to get better. The one who eventually gave up because he couldn’t figure it out on his own.
If I’d had the right training and the right guidance back then, things could’ve been different. Not just for my hockey career, but for my confidence and how I showed up in all areas of my life.
That’s why I started Hockey Training: to help players experience that same breakthrough without spending years stuck in the cycle I was trapped in.
Now, over a decade later, we’re launching the 9th edition of our flagship in-season program.
And the results speak for themselves:

For this year’s program, Tim Lebbossiere, Assistant Performance Coach for the Boston Bruins, has upgraded the entire training system. Tim programs speed development for NHL players. This year, he took everything he’s learned and built his most complete system yet: the Speed Accelerator™ system, designed around the short, explosive bursts that actually decide hockey games.
Think about a race to a loose puck in the corner. Your player needs a few quick strides to get there. Then they pick up the puck, cut back, and need a couple of hard crossovers coming out of the turn to pull away from a defender.
Bursts of fast skating counted in a single game
Most of them only last a few strides, like jumping into the rush, racing back on the backcheck, or beating a defender to the net. And every one of those bursts needs the hips, legs, and ankles working together.
A lot of general training programs do a good job building leg strength. Where they often fall short for hockey is the hips and ankles. Your player can have strong legs, but if their hips can’t power each stride and crossover, or their ankles give way instead of springing back, they can’t use all that strength to get going again. That’s what I call a power leak.
Think of it like a garden hose with a couple of holes in it. You can turn the tap all the way up, but less water makes it out the end. Weak hips and ankles are those holes.
That’s why we train the hips, legs, and ankles together. We pair that strength work with short sprints and jumps, including lateral jumps for crossover power, to help your player use their strength quickly, especially in those first few strides after a change of direction.
On a busy week, your player might only have room for one workout. That’s why we rank the workouts in order. They can do the first one and call it a week. Most weeks, they’ll aim for the two main workouts. When the schedule is lighter and their legs feel good, they can do up to four.

Boston Bruins Assistant Performance Coach
Speed Accelerator™ and this In-Season Domination ‘26 Training Program were created by Boston Bruins’ Assistant Performance Coach, Tim Lebbossiere.
Tim is in his fourth season as the Boston Bruins’ Assistant Performance Coach, following three seasons as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the minor league affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
He graduated in 2016 with a BS in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College and in 2019 with an MS in Human Performance from Lindenwood University.
Before his time with the Bruins organization, Tim also spent time with University of Massachusetts Lowell, Quinnipiac University, College of the Holy Cross, and USA Hockey, working with their hockey programs.
Over his career, Tim has helped countless hockey players transform their performance, and we are excited to do the same for your kid with our new In-Season Domination ‘26 System.
Hockey Skills & Speed Coach
I’ve spent over a decade helping hockey players reach their potential by testing training systems, guiding athletes, and studying under some of the top minds in the sport.
I didn’t make AAA growing up. Not because I didn’t work hard, but because I didn’t know how to train like a hockey player. I had the passion, but I lacked the right guidance. That experience taught me two important things: what actually works, and how it feels to be overlooked, frustrated, and unsure how to improve.
That’s why I created Hockey Training. To give players what I wish I had at their age: a clear plan, a personal mentor, and the support to stay consistent when motivation dips. My mission is simple. Help players train smarter, believe in themselves, and enjoy the process. When they do, the on-ice success and confidence follow naturally.

Hockey Domination membership
A general fitness program or a personal trainer can help your kid get stronger. But when I’m looking at an in-season program for a hockey player, I want to know where that work is going to show up on the ice. If your player wants to get faster, I want them building power in the muscles that drive those first few strides. If their legs fade in the third period, I want them working on hockey-specific conditioning so they can recover between shifts and go hard again.
That’s why In-Season Domination ’26 is the program I’d put them on. It gives them a week-by-week plan to build speed, strength, and conditioning around their practices and games so they can keep improving and still have fresh legs on game day.
What else comes with your membership
But the program is only part of what your player gets. When you join Hockey Domination, they also get coaches they can learn from and somewhere to ask questions when they need help. Growing up, that was the part I was missing, and it’s a big reason I built Hockey Domination the way I did.
Coaches They Can Turn To
Your player can ask Coach Tim and me questions inside our member community. Tim is the one who built the Speed Accelerator workouts, so if they’re ever unsure about an exercise or how to fit training around practices and games, they can just ask.
Live Group Workouts
Your player can join live workouts with our coaches to train together, learn, and ask questions as they go. There are member challenges too, which give them something fun to work toward between practices.
Stickhandling and Shooting
They also get follow-along stickhandling sessions with me, plus shooting and hockey IQ training, so they can work on their hands too. And Hockey Training TV is included for the days they just want to press play and train with a coach.
A Plan for the Whole Year
When the season wraps up, your player can move straight into Off-Season Domination. Every new edition we release in 2027 and beyond is included for as long as you’re a member, so you’re never left figuring out what comes next.
In-Season Domination ’26 is included in
You can get your player started today when you join Hockey Domination for $360 per year. That works out to $30 a month, billed annually. For context, a single group skills session can easily cost $35 to $50. Hockey Domination gives your player a plan to follow all year, plus coaches they can turn to whenever they need help.

FOR PLAYERS WHO LOVE HOCKEY AND WANT TO GET BETTER
Hockey Domination is for players who love the game and want to improve.
I don't expect young players to always be excited about extra training. That's something that often develops as they start seeing the benefits of their hard work. But I do believe the desire to improve needs to come from the player, not just their parents.
My goal is to make training fun and engaging so kids enjoy the process, build confidence, and gradually develop a love for working hard to get better.

We’re confident the Speed Accelerator system will make a real difference in your player’s speed this season. That’s why we back it with our Faster First Steps Guarantee.
Stronger ankles and hips to create a more stable base for powerful skating
More power into the ice so less of their strength gets lost through weak positions
Quicker, more explosive first steps to win more races and create separation
If you don’t see a clear improvement in your player’s speed and explosiveness, or if you’re not completely satisfied for any reason, just send me an email or message me through our website chat, and I’ll refund every penny. No hassle, no questions asked.
